(09:00 - 10:30 am Pacific Time, Mondays and Thursdays)
This is an intermediate level Tibetan translation course focusing on learning to translate technical Buddhist philosophy from Tibetan.
Course Description
This course began last year with the tenets of the Great Exposition School. This year we are looking at the tenets of the SÅ«tra School. We will be reading Presentation of Tenets, by Jay-tsün Chö-kyi-gyal-tshan (rje btsun chos kyi rgyal mtshan, 1469-1546). To help Tibetan language students we also have a heavily annotated edition in How to Read Classical Tibetan, Vol. 2: Buddhist Tenets Paperback – June 9, 2009 by Craig Preston (Author).
