This general interest class is an opportunity to talk about the nuts and bolts of philosophical talk: the technical words and phrases that keep showing up in discussions of Buddhist philosophy.
Course Description
This course has its origins with handouts I used when teaching Undergraduates. We'll start with the most basic elements the Tibetan Buddhist's worldview in matters of religious history, philosophy, and meditation. The material is divided thematically into five sections:
I. Indian Buddhism Through Tibetan Eyes
II. Ontology and Epistemology: The Bases for Transformation
III. The Differences Between the Lesser Vehicle and The Great Vehicle
IV. Soteriology and Epistemology in Action: The Paths to Liberation and Buddhahood
V. The Root of Cyclic Existence

Learning Tibetan language or history, and other topics related to Tibet, is particularly critical for monks and nuns. The Dharma Farm is non-partisan.
